I'm working through my 88 TC project car and will be redoing the entire chassis harness (eliminating a lot of things). Has anyone on this forum installed a PDM to handle the various inputs/outputs? I like the idea of using something like an Ecu Masters PDM for the chassis side. A solid state, tunable unit would be pretty cool and useful in my opinion. I'll be running a ron francis harness on the engine side with the pimp XS.

The ECU master one is fairly well liked, but I have never used it. I have done a few Racepack ones and it worked out fairly well. Whatever you use, just read the manual and understand how it works before you start. The racepack one doesn't do PWM, and is off/on. That beings said I had no issues doing a street car (turn signals, lights, brake lights, AC, fans, etc...) with one.

Good to know. I've been digging around as I have some questions on the wiring and logic for various components. I.e., the integrated taillights and turn signals on the tbird. My current plan is to use the American Autowire 500148 switch with appropriate relays and fuses. The diagram I drew up for this is fairly simple. Curious as to how this would work on a PDM like the ECU Master unit. There doesn't seem to be much on the web about integrated units like this. Everything I've come across has a separate taillight and blinker and the logic and wiring for that on the PDM is very simple.

The racepack smartwire is about as simple as it gets, and is quite easy to program the blinkers and such. You need to read the hardware and software manual for what you are buying.

Only relays I installed were for coils and injectors, as I did not like idea of high frequency high current loads on pdm, but many people let them do that too.

There will be a lot of reading in the near future. Ideally for my situation, I would power the coils and injectors through the relays on the Ron Francis engine harness. I believe the only connection I would have from the PDM to Pimp ECU would be the 12V Ignition On. I also need the starting only 12V source for the Pimp but idk if I would run this through the PDM or not. Lots of reading to do

If you don't run pretty much everything through the PDM, there starts to be little point to having one.

That's a fair point. I was looking at it from the sense of making use of what I already have but I see where you're coming from. This build for me is also an exercise of how ridiculous I can make the car in certain ways haha I'm just having fun with it so I may still explore the PDM route even if it has limited functionality in my application.
