Bought it like that and it came with a 1997 that runs and drives. Just haven't had the gumption to work on them.

I'm not sure why the photos aren't working, freaking Photobucket.

I don't know why the images seemed to add a space to the link, once I removed the hotlink to the pics they work, they just don't show up here.
That's crazy rust...

Lots of rust to deal with there! Have fun with that!

If I can't find doors (I'd like manual windows) I'll repair these. The rust in the cowl will be the most difficult part. I forgot to mention the hood is absolutely gone on the underside, but looks fine on the top.
It's a triple project for sure, but I'll have a nearly new SVO when done...

There are usually mount spots for the fenders where your cowl rust problems are at. I didn't look close but they may be missing on your car.
I had an uncle once who wanted a lighter weight hood for his old drag car so he had a shop cut out all the structure on the underside and weld in some light weight metal from corner to corner making an X on the underside of the hood. It was flimsy but strong enough to not bend, and much lighter than before.

Oh there is definitely some sheet metal missing. There's a boxed area that runs along the apron to right under the windshield that's been cut half way out.

Well the SVO has been sitting in the shop since I last posted. Worked on it here and there, but no major advances. I did pick this up recently: The plan was to rebuild this LX and daily drive it, but its pretty badly tweaked. Since I'm starting with nothing on the SVO, the LX is going to donate the engine, trans, doors, hatch so that the SVO can live again. It also has most of the bits I need to get the rust fixed on the SVO. I know it's not ideal for an SVO to be non-turbo and have an '87-'93 interior, but it'll at least be back on the road. Meanwhile I'll get together a turbo engine (I have one located, just need to get it) and probably a PIMP to bring it back to SVO status.

I can't quite figure out what happened. The tie rod is broke, the nut that holds the hub on the bearing is stripped and the wheel was driven into the floorboard hard enough to bend everything it touched. The floorboard is touching the back of the pedals and the K-member is tweaked.

Hard to say, especially since the wheel looks ok (like it didn't hit anything too hard).

Wheel is fine on the front, on the back about 1/5 of the lip is slightly bent. I'd bet it would hold air though.

Is the ball joint good? Looks like what would happen if the ball joint failed.
