What is the current wait time for either .010 or .020 over pistons? As you saw on TF, I'm in need of new slugs. Thanks in advance.

Both of those sizes are a few weeks out. There is only one set of .030 available right now.

Here's another question, my local machine shop will not bore my block without the pistons on hand. I have read what it says on your site and CP's, is it a huge deal if he does have them instead of just cutting a hole like it says on the site? The next closest machine shop is at least an hour away.

That's up to you to decide. I don't trust a guy at a machine shop to know more about the ideal bore for a piston size than the piston manufacturer does, nor do I trust his ability to measure them more accurately than CP. Pistons also "grow" when you hold them in your hands and they warm up (which is ofter where machine shop guys measuring them get into trouble). If they follow the instructions in the piston box that pertains to final bore size and don't try to adjust it because they "know better", it's fine...of course the info in the box is the same info they have without having the pistons in hand so if they planned to do that, they wouldn't insist on having the pistons in their hands

That's my issue, I know there are a bunch of drag racing guys that have his engines. I think he will do a good job, just don't like that he has to have the pistons before he bores the block.
I guess I will call around Boise tomorrow and see if anyone up there will do the work with the printed specs only.

Seems like they'd understand if you tell them they are a "custom order" piston and you won't have them for a while so you want to have the block ready for them when the pistons arrive...

I have learned never to "assume" that something is what a piece of paper says it is. I've had pistons that measured different from the rest, valves that weren't true, cranks that weren't ground right, bearings that were oversized. Unless you have the part in your hand to measure, dont go by whats on paper. Just my .02. And this was learned the hard way

Very common for machine shops to want the pistons in hand before boring. That is not a bad thing.

Are your volvo 16v pistons made for press fit or floating pins?

All pistons have floating pins, it's the rods that are either floating or press fit. If using the CP's with press fit rods, you just don't use the pin clips in the pistons.
