The compression is outside of the range I specified (+-5%), they are double that. The compression is not "good" it's just not completely dead. I still say it's a headgasket.

ok well i will buy a headgasket, but would it also be wise to buy a fuel pressure regulator? i found one on ebay with the gauge and every thing. so should i buy one of those as well???

No.
You never just buy stuff because you "think" it may be causing a problem. You test, diagnose, then fix.

Black means it is running rich. Did you pull the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake and see if you smell gas in there? Have you pulled codes yet? How do the spark plugs look? Have you done a boost leak check yet?

boost leak test is when you test the pressure side of the turbo/intake system with a source of shop air, say around 20 psi with the air applied you look and listen for boost leaks.

I made a boost leak checker by going to Home Depot and buying a 2" PVC pipe cap and a 2" rubber pipe coupler. Both are available in the plumbing section. Then drill a hole in the pipe cap, put an air line fitting into it, then use the rubber pipe coupler with hose clamps to connect the pipe cap to your turbo inlet. Here is a write up that shows pictures of one a little different then what I made: www.srtforums.com/forums/f25/glhss-second-gen-boost-leak-tester-how-parts-list-195139/You don't need all those pipes, just a pipe cap will work. I didn't use a tire valve, I used and air tool fitting instead so I don't have to hold the air supply on while looking. With engine off apply shop air to the air fitting on the pipe cap and your entire intake system and vacuum lines will become pressurized so you can find air leaks. The air supply must have a regulator so you can turn the air down to around 20 PSI otherwise the boost checker will just pop off and smack you in the head. Sometimes they can pop off at 20 PSI so watch out. To pin point leaks I use a rubber 3/8" fuel line about 3 feet long, hold one end to your ear, and move the other end of the hose around the engine compartment. This will allow you to pin point the exact source of the leaks. If you own a turbo car this is something that should be done on a regular basis to make sure there are no boost leaks. Have you pulled codes yet?

Here is the problem, you aren't doing anything with the info, you are just asking everybody under the sun for different opinions, then asking everybody who's opinions didn't line up what they think about the other people's opinions. My diagnosis can be no better than the info I'm given and at this point, I don't even know what info you give me is valid (sometimes the smoke is black, other times you say grey/white. Sometimes the compression is bad, other times marginal, other times just fine. Sometimes it's blowing steam out the cylinders, sometimes not, etc.) I asked you to scan codes on PAGE 1 and it's now a MONTH LATER and 5 PAGES LATER and guess what? WE STILL HAVE NO CODE SCANNING RESULTS!!!!!!!! The ecu has a BUILT IN DIAGNOSIS TOOL YOU REFUSE TO USE! Scanning for codes is always STEP 1 in diagnosing any efi issues and you won't do it no matter how many times we say to!!! You keep saying you think it's the fuel pressure regulator. CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE!!!!!!!!!!! If it's way too high, the fuel pressure regulator is bad! If it's in the 30-40psi range, it's fine and you can quit talking about it. Until you scan for codes and check fuel pressure and post the results here, I will delete every question you ask about your car's issues. I don't know how else to get you to listen to what we ask you to do.

22-MAP sensor voltage out of range (either vacuum line is still attached to sensor, sensor is bad, or wiring isn't correct) 26-VAM (VAM) sensor voltage out of range, either the vane air meter is bad or wiring isn't correct. 28-VAT (VAM air temp sensor) out of range, either sensor or wiring isn't correct. Since both VAM and VAT are incorrect, I'd suspect your vam isn't wired correctly. 51-ECT (Engine coolant temp) Voltage too high, suspect a bad ect sensor or bad wiring. 53-TPS (Throttle position sensor) voltage too high, indicates wide open throttle condition. Either the sensor isn't properly adjusted (if you used turbo throttle body/tps) or it is wired backwards. 63-TPS voltage too low, interesting to have both TPS codes. I would still has it's wired backwards. 81 and 82 are typical turbo swap codes.
What year is your car?

my car is a 88 mustang hatch and the motor is out iof a 88 turbo coupe, is what the guy told me. see i bought the car witht the swap already done, an it ran great, so them code's are whats wrong or what could be wrong??? i worked on it a little and i was playing with a vacuum hose and i had it running good for a miniute and i had it reved past 3,000, but know it wont rev past it agian. could it be timeing??? like i said i had it tunning good for a minute. but if i did a boost test would that tell me if i have a vacuum leak some were else or just where the turbo is??? i did all the code to day and i got some others it only gave me these code, some chaged sense after i started the car while i worked on it then i shut it off and hooked it to my scanner. this is what i got 22, 26, 28, 51, 54, 63, 71, 82, 85, 88, some are still there but there are new ones. but i also notcie my car is not smokeing as bad as it was, but it smokes a little when i rev it, i notice that when i shut my car off i can here like air come out of my exhaust, and like i can here the turbo like spool down in the exhaust and its kind of loud i just noticed it today. i dont think it did that when i had the car running and i was driving it. i wish i had a cam and i could tape it and send it to you and show but i dont got a cam. but the VAm its like it suck in to much air because when i rev it and let off it makes a big woosh noise like a blow off valve but it like it sucks in air??? man but i have ben working on it, its kind of hard when you only know a little about cars, i am trying as best as i can, i just really like this car, so i am trying to get her running agian
