Looking at November already? Dang! At least you aren't rushing things and hopefully it will come out perfect in the first swing, instead of needing to be changed after design flaws are found in real world use. Lots of companies rush things out the door to find they don't fit or work when a shade tree mechanic installs them.

That's the idea...hopefully it's a flawless release.

So when I get this new ECU going right and I want to do something like a ported head/cam and larger injectors, all I need to do to the MS is tell it the new sizes of the injectors? Is it going to be that simple for every upgrade? Like a larger turbo, just tell it the size and it adjusts from there?

For injector upgrades yes, you just plug in the new value and it adjusts accordingly. For the additional airflow from the head/cam, you'll need to run VE Live (autotune) while you drive around for a half hour or so and let it adjust the VE table to match the new setup.

Will I have to have a lap top in the car while I'm driving around to do that or can I turn it on, unplug the lap top and take off?

You'll need a laptop in the car to record the datalogging and/or run ve-live.

good to know. I've got an old cheapie that I was gonna throw in the trash soon, but it might have a reason for life now! How big are the programs and what size/speed processor is needed to run it?

The programs are small and you don't need much processing power. A Win95 laptop would do the job. The main requirement is that the battery will last an hour or so, or you have an inverter to plug it into the car to keep it charged up.

Stinger,
Can you please briefly elaborate on using this setup in a 5.0 to 2.3t converted car? I would like to understand how/what I would need wire my 93 (currently a 302 car with stock V8 harness) to use this setup after I finish building my 2.3t. Brief will suffice for now of course.
I want to do this right the first time, so I am going to build slowly and not skimp on the details.
Thanks and looking forward to reading on the site more often!
Alex

Your best bet would be to just use a stock 2.3 harness for your year of car and you're done. Otherwise you can change the 5.0 harness to appear to be a 2.3 harness but skip the air meter wiring as it's no longer needed.
