Yes, I started building the webpage listing for it, creating the logo for it (vote in that thread please), and have been working on what will be included in the kit (USB or Serial Cable, vacuum hose to hook up map sensor, tuning software, datalog analysis software, install instructions, startup instructions, etc.). As far as the actual ECU goes, there is one "proof of concept" ecu being tested, 4 or 5 more of them will be built as exact production units in the next 3-4 weeks and then tested on a multitude of vehicles to verify they work on all the different setups (5.0, 4.6, 2.3 turbo, 2.3 n/a, 2.3 n/a with DIS ignition, etc.). This will also be the time when base tunes are developed for the different engines. Assuming the testing goes well and only takes a few weeks, we'll be ready to order all of the components required and once they arrive, ramp up production.

This should be a great solution to tuning these cars. I can't wait to see results from real world applications. Not saying you'll skew results stinger, I am just a believer in user produced results.

Well, any ecu is only as good as the guy tuning with it. However, the goal is to provide better base tunes and better tuning info and guides in order to make the "guy tuning with it" more knowledgeable/capable.

I completely understand that. I am just hoping to get something which is powerful enough to make major improvements without causing damage. I recognize that's difficult to ask for.
Can you make this thing idiot proof? haha
In all seriousness, is it possible to limit certain values to protect the user's car?

Can you make this thing idiot proof? haha In all seriousness, is it possible to limit certain values to protect the user's car? Fuel and timing issues are the main things to tune and also the things that can inflict the most damage when tuned improperly. We'll offer a nice safe timing map that you can leave alone unless you really know what you are doing and can test it on a dyno. As for fuel, that's the main thing to tune so we can't lock you out from changing that. There are ways to shut off the advanced features of the tuning program once you install it. The main thing to remember though is if you don't know what something is, what it does, or why you would change it, leave it alone!

Absolutely. Thanks for the response and I am looking forward to working with it down the road.
