The offset doesn't change from a sbf to a 2.3 w/adapter. This means you need any sbf zero balance flywheel/flexplate drilled for a 2.3 crank pattern.
We sell an SFI approved aluminum flywheel to go with the adapter on the site for $335 shipped that is lighter than the stock steel 2.3 flywheel. We do not offer a flexplate but Reactor flywheel will make one for you, as will many other companies. You can also have your stock sbf flexplate redrilled and zero balanced. I'm not sure if I'd trust a redrilled stocker at high rpm though.

Some people may not value their legs nearly as high as you and I...I agree though.

So if the offset does not change then any small block Ford trans should work. I have a 302 with a well built C-6. I am building a high horsepower 2.3 to put back into the car and would like to retain that C-6.
If I get a Reactor drilled flexplate all I should have left to do is machine the pilot hole in the crank to 302Specs?

So if the offset does not change then any small block Ford trans should work. Exactly, that's the point of the adapter. I have no experience with adapting a V8 auto trans to a 2.3 but yes, that sounds correct.

Do you know of anyone that has put a V8 Auto trans behind a 2.3?

These adapter plates haven't been out all that long so I am unaware of anyone that has completed the project at this time. There are at least 4 or 5 that plan to though.

Stinger do you stock the SFI approved aluminum flywheel or is there a waiting period for the flywheel to be made?

They are already made, no waiting period.

a c6 has to much rotating mass for a 5.0 ,unless your towing something ,so to use one behind a 2.3 seems pointless. a good c4 will get more to the ground!! but thats my opinion and you know what they say about that lol

I am currently in the middle of doing a 5.0-->2.3T swap in a 92 LX. I got the car for a great price, with a beautiful black interior. Anyway, I am seriously interested in your adapter plate for the 2.3-->5.0 bell housing. I am curious about the flywheel that you sell. Is the SPEC flywheel already drilled properly for the 2.3 application or is this something that you purchase and re-drill yourself? If it is correct from the MFG, are there any other MFG's that provide a flywheel that would work for my swap?
Thanks for any help you can give
-Sam

It is already drilled properly, just bolt it on. Nobody else makes one.

You'll need to get an adapter bushing from Rapido Group.
