Remanufactured ECU's are fine.

I double and triple checked. The wires run to the right spots on the connector and computer so I am guessing the computer put out the wrong signal for some reason.

Well, you can always sell one ecu or the other if it's not the issue...

That is a good point. Thanks for all your help. I hope to have it running soon. Thanks again for putting up with my stupid questions.

I found a reman computer but it is only advertised as an 87-88 thunderbird turbocoupe vin w or t. Do you know whether this would be an LA2 or LA3 computer?

Vin T is turbo, doesn't matter what ecu code it is, it will work for what you need.

You can verify the ground side of the injector wiring is correct by disconnecting the ecu, unplug the injectors, then check the ohms between the injector ground wire and chassis ground. An ohms value indicates the wire is grounded somewhere it shouldn't be because the ecu (it's normal ground) is removed.

Would the pinouts be different or not?

All of the 87-88 ECU pinouts are the same. I'd do the above check before plugging in the new ecu though.

There is no breaks in the wire. I did the test and the wires are good to the computer. I took the computer apart and there are no signs of damage. Could it still be bad?

Is there a case ground for the computer. I know there is one through the plug I just want to make sure there is not one through the case.

There is a bare terminal coming out of the harness that attaches to a screw about 6" below the ECU location.
