What is the difference in the pinouts from the LA2 to the LA3? Is it a better computer?

All of the 87-88 ECU pinouts are the same. I'd do the above check before plugging in the new ecu though.

Furthermore, they are the same ECU except the LA2 can control an auto trans.

just reread the wiring swap and found I am missing the 22k resistor. Can I just get one from radio shack or is there something special?

The one in the coil wire? It's not overly critical, don't worry about it.

The LA3 computer worked. I don't even think the computer is actually an LA2. Do you know of any other way to tell which computer it is? Also I could not start it today because the battery was dead but I had to use the starter from the 93. Is that ok or does the svo have a larger starter? It seams to crank slow.

It says on the sticker what ecu it is...big letters that say "LA3".
The 93 starter is better. A dead battery will make it crank slow, as will excessive timing.

Sorry for the confusing post. The LA2 computer a bought said LA2 on the sticker but I think it is a fake. I think someone pealed the sticker off of a real LA2 and put it on the computer I bought. Is there any other way to tell?

Why do you think that? I'd start first by comparing the cases, they should look the same externally. You can also take the cases apart and look inside, they should appear 99% the same inside as well.

I think that because almost all of the outputs were wrong. I took a look and checked all of my inputs. None of them were right
